To make the toll tax collection process smooth and effortless at National Highway toll plazas, Government of India (GOI) has made it compulsory for all vehicles (excluding two and three wheelers) across India to make toll payments through FASTag. FASTag is a simple to use; reloadable tag which enables automatic deduction of toll charges and lets you pass through the toll plaza without stopping for the cash transaction. FASTag is linked to a prepaid account from which the applicable toll amount is deducted. FASTag is a chip based device based on Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology and is affixed on the windscreen of a vehicle which makes toll payments directly from the user’s prepaid accounts linked to it.
e-Seva Technology has tied up with Paytm Payments Bank for its FASTag program which is a part of National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) initiative rolled out by NPCI. This program is being implemented by IHMCL and NPCI and is currently functional at 500+ National Highway toll plazas across India.
